Terms of Service

Effective Date: July 18, 2026 · Platform: Youth4Hire

1. Platform Purpose & Scope of Service

Youth4Hire ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates an online communications platform connecting minor teenagers ("Teens") with local residential property owners or renters ("Homeowners") for casual, low-risk household help.

Youth4Hire is solely a venue platform. We are not an employment agency, staffing firm, labor broker, or contractor. We do not employ, select, supervise, direct, control, or schedule Teens, nor do we evaluate, inspect, or guarantee the safety or condition of any Homeowner's premises. By accessing or using Youth4Hire, all users ("you") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

2. Independent Relationships & No Employment

All arrangements, tasks, schedules, and agreements formed on Youth4Hire are direct, private contracts solely between the Homeowner and the Teen (and their Parent/Guardian).

No Employment Status: Teens operate strictly as independent community volunteers or self-employed micro-contractors. Nothing on this platform creates an employer-employee, joint venture, partnership, or agency relationship.

No Tax or Benefit Responsibilities: Youth4Hire does not set wage rates, withhold taxes, issue tax documents (e.g., W-2/1099), process payroll, or provide workers' compensation, disability, or liability insurance covering any user or property.

Labor Law Compliance: Users are solely responsible for complying with all applicable local, state, and federal laws regarding minor labor, youth work permits, and informal household assistance.

3. Account Eligibility & Registration

A. Teens (Ages 13–21) — Must be between 13 and 21 years of age. Mandatory Parental Consent: a Teen account cannot apply for or accept tasks until a Parent or Legal Guardian creates a linked account and explicitly approves participation.

B. Parents and Legal Guardians — Must be at least 18 years old. By linking an account, you represent that you are the legal parent or legal guardian of the Teen. You assume full legal responsibility, oversight, and liability for your child's communications, job applications, travel, and conduct on and off the platform.

C. Homeowners & Residents — Must be at least 18 years old and possess legal authority to grant access to the residential premises where the task occurs. Residential Use Only: commercial businesses, retail establishments, corporate job sites, and high-risk work environments are strictly prohibited.

4. Safety Disclaimer & Assumption of Risk

You acknowledge and agree that in-person meetings, household tasks, and work engagements carry inherent risks.

Youth4Hire does not supervise, inspect, or control off-line interactions. All communications, transport to/from locations, and task executions occur entirely at the personal risk of the participating users.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Youth4Hire, its founders, officers, directors, employees, and agents expressly disclaim all liability for:

  • Personal Injury or Death: Any bodily harm, illness, physical injury, or death suffered by any user or third party.
  • Property Damage or Loss: Any damage to real property, personal property, vehicles, or equipment, including theft, vandalism, or accidental destruction.
  • Criminal Misconduct: Any assault, harassment, trespass, theft, kidnapping, exploitation, or illegal act committed by any user or third party.
  • Third-Party Conduct: Actions of pets, family members, neighbors, or visitors at the task site.
  • False Profile Information: Reliance on user-provided descriptions, photos, or badges.

5. Limitation of Liability & Total Cap

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Youth4Hire be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the platform, in-person tasks, or inability to use the services.

Because Youth4Hire is a 100% free service and receives no transaction fees or commissions from users, you agree that Youth4Hire's total aggregate liability to you for any and all claims shall not exceed zero dollars ($0.00).

6. Parent & User Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Youth4Hire and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any third-party claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising out of or related to:

  • Your (or your minor child's) violation of these Terms;
  • Any task performed or requested by you (or your minor child);
  • Any injury or property damage caused by you (or your minor child) or occurring on your property;
  • Any misrepresentation of age, legal guardianship, or identity.

7. Verification Standards & Identity Consent

A. Verification Limitations — Youth4Hire uses third-party automated tools for basic age and identity verification (such as matching government IDs and selfies). These are not criminal background checks, sex offender registry checks, or fingerprint checks. Verification badges confirm identity documentation only — they do not guarantee user safety, character, or performance quality.

B. Verification Photo & Arrival Code Consent — By completing verification, you consent to Youth4Hire retaining your verification selfie and displaying it to the other party on a specific job you're both involved in — a Teen's photo to the Homeowner who hired them, and a Homeowner's photo to the Teen assigned to their job — enabling door-side identity matching via arrival code for both sides. Your photo is never posted publicly, never sold, and used strictly for job-site authentication and account verification.

C. Government ID (Homeowners) — Submitting a government-issued ID is optional for Homeowners and is not required to post jobs or hire Teens. A Homeowner who completes it receives a visible "ID Verified" indicator; one who additionally passes a background check receives a separate indicator reflecting that. Neither indicator is a guarantee of safety, character, or performance — see Section 7.A above.

8. Financial Terms & Zero-Fee Structure

Youth4Hire charges zero fees to post, browse, or accept jobs.

Payments are negotiated and completed directly between Homeowners and Teens (or their parents) via cash or third-party peer-to-peer payment apps (e.g., Venmo, Zelle, PayPal).

Youth4Hire does not process payments, store financial tokens, guarantee payment completion, or settle financial disputes between users.

9. Prohibited Conduct & Account Termination

Users are strictly prohibited from:

  • Contacting minor teens off-platform prior to formal job acceptance;
  • Soliciting minors for adult, dangerous, illegal, or non-residential tasks;
  • Bypassing parental link or supervision controls;
  • Using power machinery, roof ladders, heavy chemicals, or high-risk equipment;
  • Harassing, stalking, or discriminating against any community member;
  • Posting fraudulent listings or false reviews.

Youth4Hire reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to suspend, terminate, or ban any account or user at any time, with or without notice, for any violation of these Terms or suspected safety risks.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. YOUTH4HIRE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY OF LISTINGS, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE PLATFORM OPERATION.

11. Dispute Resolution, Binding Arbitration & Class Action Waiver

Governing Law: These Terms are governed by and construed under the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Binding Arbitration: Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or platform usage shall be resolved through binding individual arbitration administered in King County, Washington.

Class Action & Jury Trial Waiver: You agree to resolve all disputes individually and waive any right to bring or participate in a class action lawsuit, class-wide arbitration, or jury trial.
