Privacy Policy

Effective Date: July 18, 2026 · Platform: Youth4Hire

1. Overview & Commitment to Safety

Youth4Hire ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") is dedicated to protecting the privacy of our community members, with heightened security protocols designed specifically for minor teenagers. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), the Washington Privacy Act (WPA), and applicable U.S. privacy regulations.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate a secure neighborhood marketplace.

A. Information Provided Directly to Us

  • Account Credentials: Full name, email address, password (stored using industry-standard salted hash algorithms), phone number, role (Teen, Parent, or Homeowner), and year of birth (for age verification).
  • Profile & Public Details: General neighborhood/zip code, skill categories, general availability, bio, and hourly or task rate preferences. Exact street addresses are never publicly listed or attached to public profiles.
  • Parental Linkage Data: Parent/guardian contact details supplied by teens, and child linkage confirmation tokens.
  • In-App Communications & Content: Messages sent between users on the platform, job descriptions, schedule proposals, ratings, and reviews.

B. Verification & Authentication Data

  • Government-Issued Photo IDs (Homeowners, optional): Submitting a government ID is not required to use Youth4Hire as a Homeowner. If submitted, uploaded ID photos are processed solely for real-time document validation and identity verification, and are automatically and permanently deleted immediately after verification completes.
  • Verification Selfies (Teens & Homeowners): Biometric/facial verification selfies are collected to confirm account ownership. Selfies are retained securely on encrypted servers to enable our mandatory door-side Arrival Photo Match feature when a teen is hired for a job.
  • Address Data: Residential addresses are collected from homeowners for geographic job matching and mapping integrations.

C. Automated Usage Data — Technical data including IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifier, and page interaction logs collected strictly for security monitoring, platform optimization, and fraud prevention.

3. Children's Privacy & COPPA Compliance

Protecting minors is our foundational priority. Our platform operates strict children's privacy protections:

Under-13 Prohibition: Youth4Hire is restricted to users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under 13, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Accounts created by individuals under 13 are deleted immediately upon discovery.

Teens Ages 13–21:

  • Last Name Shielding: Teen last names are never displayed publicly on listings or search results.
  • Mandatory Parental Oversight: Parents who link accounts maintain real-time access to view all of their teen's active jobs, applications, in-app messages, and platform activity.
  • Location Protection: Specific street addresses and live directions are strictly hidden until a job is officially accepted by both parties.
  • Zero Commercialization: Teen personal data is never sold, rented, leased, or monetized for behavioral advertising or targeted marketing.

4. How We Use Your Information

We process personal data exclusively to provide, maintain, and safeguard our services:

  • Service Provision: Creating accounts, matching teens with homeowners, enabling in-app messaging, and rendering map navigation.
  • Safety & Fraud Prevention: Verifying user identity, conducting door-side photo matching, monitoring in-app communications for policy violations or red flags, and investigating safety disputes.
  • Parental Transparency: Providing linked parents with direct visibility into their teen's account activity.
  • Legal Compliance: Complying with applicable statutory obligations, subpoenas, or safety enforcement requests.

We do not display third-party advertisements on Youth4Hire and do not track users across non-affiliated websites.

5. Information Visibility & Sharing Rules

We operate strict access-control boundaries regarding who can view user information:

A. Public View (Unauthenticated Visitors & Unmatched Users) — Teen/Homeowner first name, last initial, general neighborhood/city, bio, listed skills, completed job history, and community reviews.

B. Matched Users (Only After Job Acceptance)

  • Street Address: Revealed to the confirmed Teen for map directions once a job is accepted.
  • Arrival Photo Check: A teen's verification selfie is shown only to the specific Homeowner who hired them for a task, allowing the Homeowner to match the face at the door against the verified photo. Selfies are never displayed publicly or shown prior to hire.

C. Parent/Guardian Access — Linked parents receive full administrative visibility into their teen's profile, active applications, message threads, job history, and ratings.

D. Administrative & Legal Disclosure

  • Youth4Hire Administrators: Authorized personnel may access communications and logs to resolve disputes, review flagged behavior, or enforce safety protocols.
  • Law Enforcement: We may disclose user information if required by law, court order, or subpoena, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the immediate physical safety of a minor or community member.

6. Data Retention & Deletion Policy

  • Government IDs: Deleted immediately following verification processing.
  • Verification Selfies: Retained for the lifetime of an active account to support recurring arrival verification checks.
  • Account & Message Logs: Retained while the account remains active. Upon account deletion, messages, profile data, and verification records are permanently purged or anonymized within 30 days, except where retention is legally required.

7. Security Standards

Youth4Hire implements technical, administrative, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, or alteration:

  • All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS/HTTPS protocols.
  • User passwords are encrypted using modern salted cryptographic hashes.
  • Verification images are stored in secure, private cloud buckets inaccessible to the public web.

In the event of a security incident affecting personal data, we will notify affected users, linked parents, and relevant legal authorities in accordance with state and federal breach notification laws.

8. Your Legal Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA, WPA, State Laws)

Depending on your jurisdiction, you (and parents of minor users) hold specific privacy rights regarding your data:

  • Right to Know & Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you or your child.
  • Right to Correction: Update or correct inaccurate account details.
  • Right to Deletion: Request that we delete personal information associated with your account (subject to legal retention requirements).
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing: Youth4Hire does not sell or share user data for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Parental Rights: Parents may withdraw consent, deactivate their teen's linked account, or request data deletion at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, contact our privacy compliance team at info@youth4hire.com. We respond to all verified requests within 30 days.
